Little has been found to aid in our description of one of our favorite artists within our collection, Monkey Man. We purchased two pieces of his work at an auction of outsider art at Kimball Sterling's in Johnson City, Tennessee. We were informed that his work was collected by Paloma Picasso and Jane Fonda, among others. The pieces would be presented among the last items at the auction, numbers 377 through 379. We hoped we could "last" long enough and be able to outbid others for these unique, clever pieces. Photographed for the auction, there were three pieces. Only two were presented: Radio Wave Quacker and Duck Ring Gear. We prevailed over other's keen interest but have learned little more about the artist since that day.
