Fred Webster

Born 1911, lives in Berry, Alabama.

We never met Fred Webster, a retired high school principal, but our friends and fellow collectors Maggie and Richard Wenstrup expressed great personal interest in his sculpture. Most of his work they collected had a biblical focus. They collected Gabriel blowing his horn, shepherds with their flocks of sheep, archangels, ... Some other examples of his work were figures with historical significance including the piece they sold us, "Honest" Abe Lincoln. Carved, painted and signed in 1992, the detailed hand carving of Lincoln's face reveals a true likeness to our 16th U.S. President.
